Before dropping a course, there are a few important reminders you will want to consider:

  1. If you are looking to switch a course (drop a course and add a different course instead), you may want to consider a conditional add/drop. Please review our page “Making a Change to your Schedule” for instructions on this process.
  2. Be sure to consult the academic calendar to review deadlines to drop a course. Once the deadline to drop a course has passed, you will no longer be able to drop the course yourself. Instead, meet with your academic advisor to talk about other options.
  3. Before dropping a course, double check any financial aid you may receive to determine if dropping the course will impact your aid. You can connect with the Office of University Scholarships and Financial Aid to be sure.
  4. Before making any changes to your schedule, we recommend checking with your academic advisor to review how dropping this course may impact your progress toward degree.
  5. Students cannot drop their last or final class for a term. Refer to the Registrar's Enrollment webpage to review the term resignation policy.
