With more than 100 different majors and a wide variety of minors offered at Virginia Tech, choosing the right academic path can be a difficult decision. Whether you're still deciding on a major, considering a second major, or thinking about adding a minor, the Majors and Minors Fair is a great place for current Virginia Tech undergraduate students to explore.
Hosted by Academic Advising and Transition Support, this annual event includes informational tables from over 60 majors, minors, and special programs from various departments and colleges. You'll have the opportunity to connect with advisors, faculty, and current students. You can ask questions and explore how different programs align with your interests, strengths, and career goals.

Who should attend the Majors and Minors Fair?
Any current Virginia Tech undergraduate student! Whether you’re undeclared, considering changing your major, adding a second major, or exploring minors and special programs, this event is for you.
Should prospective students attend?
Unfortunately, no, this fair is specifically designed for current Virginia Tech students. If you are a prospective student, we recommend you look into attending the Majors Fair during Open House weekends.
Do I need to register to attend?
Nope! The event is drop-in and open to all students. Come and go anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
What should I bring with me?
Bring your Hokie Passport and your curiosity! You might also want to have a list of majors or minors you're interested in, or specific questions you want to ask.
Can I attend even if I’ve already declared a major?
Definitely. Many students attend to explore a second major, a minor, or to learn about special programs and other academic opportunities.
Is there a virtual option?
This year’s fair is in-person only, but if you're unable to attend, we encourage you to follow up with your academic advisor or visit the Academic Catalog to explore programs online.
Will there be free stuff?
Yes, many departments will have giveaways and materials to help you learn more about their programs. Come early for the best selection!
