Majors and Minors Fair

With more than 100 different majors at Virginia Tech, deciding what area to study can be a difficult decision for students. The Majors and Minors Fair, hosted by Academic Advising Initiatives and the Undergraduate Student Senate, can help students learn more about the university’s programs to find the best fit or even to explore a second major.

The fair will be hosted in Squires Student Center’s Commonwealth Ballroom from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, and include informational tables from over 60 majors and minors from various departments and colleges, as well as special programs.

“This event gives [students] the opportunity to see all kinds of different options that are available to them,” explained Dr. Kimberly Smith, associate vice provost for Student Success Initiatives. “If they are thinking about going into one major or declaring a minor but are unsure, or if they are thinking about a couple of different majors or minors, then they can learn what those are really about. It equips students with more information.”
